M&E Quantity Surveyor
Our client is a well established M&E Contractor based in Cambridgeshire. The company are looking for an experienced individual who can work on projects covering commercial, healthcare, education and some industrial projects. The work is predominantly within East Anglia. Ranging from £1 million to £10 million with an average of £3 to £5 million.
ROLE:
- Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the role of Senior Quantity Surveyor will assume responsibility as commercial lead on the commercial aspects of high profile M&E construction projects based from the companies Cambridgeshire Office.
- You will be expected to show a great deal of pro activity as the role will be relatively autonomous, with regular meetings scheduled with the Commercial Manager to review overall commercial performance.
- You will provide monthly reports to the Commercial Manager on all commercial matters; in doing so you will be expected to have interrogated CVR's, cash, accruals etc., and present your findings in a formal written manner, escalating any risks and proposed action plans.
- You will be a key member of the senior team to enhance the delivery of projects. Ultimately you will work in conjunction with the service delivery team to ensure projects are delivered on time and budget whilst maintaining good client relations with the view to gaining repeat business for the Client.
Ideal candidates will be experienced M&E services-orientated Quantity Surveyors with at least 5 years post graduate experience who are looking for the next career step. Ideally, you will come from either an independent building services contractor or one of the national firms. What is essential is that your background is very much grounded in building services.
CANDIDATE:
- Suitable applicants will be educated to BSc Quantity Surveying or equivalent and will be able to demonstrate experience working at Project QS or Senior level for recognised contractors.
- You will have a stable career history and be well versed with JCT/NEC contracts & Schedule of rates contracts.
- Previous building services experience as a Senior/Quantity Surveyor in a main contractor or building services business
- Strong commercial awareness
- Demonstrates strong attention to detail and produces accurate work.
- Communicates information and ideas proactively and confidentially in a way which is received positively, both verbally and in writing.
